After beating Azerbaijan’s Rovshan Bayramov, Russia’s Nazyr Mankiev won a gold medal in the Greco-Roman 55kg weight class today at Beijing Olympics. Roman Amoyan of Armenia and Korea’s Park Eun-Chul shared the bronze medal.
His fellow countryman, Islam-Beka Albiev, also took home the top prize in the 60-kilogram final after defeating Vitaliy Rahimov of Azerbaijan. […]

CBC News is reporting that a construction worker found three-time Olympian, Harry Geris, dead in London, Ontario Canada yesterday. He was 60 years old. An autopsy will be performed but the police do not suspect foul play. His body was discovered behind a high school where he was delivering wrestling mats for a tournament.
