Sanchez Prevails for Road Race Win

Samuel Sanchez, a 30-year-old cyclist from Spain, endured Beijing’s heat, humidity, and oppressive air quality to win the Olympic road race, a 245.4km (152 mile) route that crisscrosses the city of Beijing. ESPN is reporting this morning that relatives of a US Volleyball coach were attacked by a knife-wielding man around mid-day today while they were sightseeing at the 13th century Drum Tower, located just five miles away from the Olympic Green.
