The US Olympic diving team added its first four members over the weekend, after the Olympic Diving Meet in Indianapolis. Going to Beijing are Indianapolis native, David Boudia (platform, pictured above), Laura Wilkinson (platform), Troy Dumais (springboard), and Christina Loukas (springboard). Diving has been a part of the Olympic games since 1904. Originally, only platform diving was included. Springboard was added in 1908. Women’s platform was first included in the 1912 Olympics and women’s springboard in the 1920 games. Sychronized diving was added to the games in 2000.

BOYDS, Md. – Nancilea Foster (Spring, Texas) and Thomas Finchum (Indianapolis) closed out the Speedo USA Diving Spring National Championships by winning individual titles in women’s 3-meter and men’s 10-meter, respectively, on Sunday afternoon. Foster scored 347.25 points in her win, and Finchum tallied 512.05 points for his victory.

Athletics
Gymnastics
They also happen to have the most events under each discipline, ergo, more gold medals that’s up for grabs. Honestly, whenever I think about the Olympics, I always picture track athletes. Hmmm.
