US Wins Mens Beach Volleyball Gold Medal
The United States beach volleyball duo of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers defeated the Brazilian team of Fabio Magalhaes and Marcio Araujo on Friday to win the Olympic Gold Medal. The contest was close for the first two sets, with the Americans winning the first one 23-21 and the Brazilians taking the second set 21-17, but the US pair dominated in the tie-breaker, winning 15-4.
The other Brazilan pair of Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos beat the Georgian team in the match for the Bronze Medal.
Dalhausser and Rogers’ win comes one day after the United States team of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won the Gold Medal in the womens beach volleyball contest.

What a great game and match up. I was really concerned for the US in the first match making so many mistakes, but they pulled through to win. Great game.
