Team China Dominates in Badminton
Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng of China took care of business in the quarterfinals of the Olympic badminton tournament, easily beating Americans Bob Malaythong and Howard Bach. After galloping to an 8-1 lead in the first game, the finished with a 21-9, 21-10 win over Team USA.
The action didn’t end there. The Chinese women also destroyed their competition in badminton.
Defending Olympic champion Zhang Ning proved that she still has what it takes by defeating France’s Pi Hongyan in three games to advance to the semifinals.
In women’s doubles, Lee Hyo-jung and Lee Kyung-won, again of China, defeated Japan’s Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsuna 22-20, 21-15.
What an incredible day for the Chinese badminton team!
