The eastern Canadian culture of Newfoundland and Labrador will be among those highlighted on the international stage at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The arrangement comes after Newfoundland pledged to contribute $1.5 million toward Canadian athletes and staging and the Games.
“Our government is proud to be a partner in the 2010 Winter Games, and we look forward to contributing the rich cultural heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador to this international phenomenon,” said Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams.
