Dara Torres Has Shoulder Surgery, Says “Maybe” to 2012
After winning three Silver Medals in Beijing and being, at 41, the oldest swimmer to ever compete in the Olympic Games, American Dara Torres is back home in Florida and was scheduled to have surgery today to repair a partial tear in her right shoulder. It’s amazing to think of her performance now knowing that she was competing injured. Doctors say that she won’t be out of the pool for long–only four or five days.
Torres was coy in this interview and when she was on Jay Leno’s show on Monday about whether she’ll compete in London in 2012. Apparently, she’s not ruling anything out. Wouldn’t that be something!
