China Wins Third Diving Gold in Three Days
The Chinese diving team continued to showcase their mastery of synchronized diving today at the Water Cube, with Wang Xin and Chen Riuolin winning the Gold Medal in the women’s 10m synchronized platform event. The teenagers–Wang is 16 and Chen is 15–led throughout the competition, earning 363.54 total points and one perfect 10.
Briony Cole and Melissa Wu of Australia earned the Silver Medal and Paola Espinosa and Tatiana Ortiz of Mexico earned the Bronze, the first medal for Mexico in the Beijing Games.
The Chinese diving pair of Liu Yue and Huo Liang won the Gold Medal on Monday in the men’s 10m synchronized platform event and China’s Quo Jingjing and Wu Minxia won the women’s 3m synchronized springboard event on Sunday.
