Team Canada rocked the boat (pun intended!) at the canoe-kayak World Cup this weekend. Both Adam van Koeverden and Thomas Hall took home gold medals after scoring big at the competition in Poznan, Poland.
Van Koeverden earned his 20th (amazing!) career World Cup win in the 1,000-metre kayak singles event with a time of 3 mins 25.725 seconds. The silver and bronze medals went to Britain’s Tim Brabants and Norway’s Erik Veraas, respectively.
Thomas Hall won the 1,000-metre men’s canoe singles event in 3:56.023. The win marks Hall’s second World Cup victory this season. France’s Mathieu Goubel finished in second place while third place went to Greece’s Andreas Kiligkaridis.
Both van Koeverden and Hall have qualified to compete in the Summer Games in August in China.
