Bolt, Powell Make Jamaican Olympic Team

Usain Bolt, the world 100-meter dash record holder, and Asafa Powell have both qualified for the Jamaican Olympic team. Bolt won the race, with a time 9.85 seconds, at the Jamaican National Championships this weekend. Powell finished with a time of 9.97 seconds. Powell’s trainer, Michael Frater, who ran 10.04 seconds (his fastest time this season!), rounded out the top three.
I knew it was going to be an intense race (read my article about Powell’s recovery from injury from before the race) and, while I am happy for Powell, his time wasn’t as close to Bolt’s as I was hoping. Still, there is plenty of time left before the games and, hopefully, he will be back in top form.
