Press Release | IOC Coordination Commission to Convene Ninth Plenary Session in Beijing
(BEIJING, October 22) — The IOC’s Coordination Commission for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will hold its ninth plenary session here on Tuesday.
During the three-day meeting, the coordination commission, led by its chairman Hein Verbruggen, will hold discussions on preparations for the Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games with BOCOG, the relevant departments of the Beijing municipal government and the co-host city government representatives.
The meeting will focus on services for client groups, transportation, medical care, spectator services and media reception. The International Olympic Committee will hold discussions with BOCOG about services to the media, athletes, national Olympic committees (NOCs), spectators, the Olympic Family, International Sports Federations (IFs) and sponsors, as well as other matters.
This will also be the last time of the year for the coordination commission to visit Beijing. Prior to the opening of the Games, the coordination commission will hold two additional meetings next year.
