Notification on Press Accommodation Allocation
August 17, 2007 - Due to the heavy demand for media accommodation in Beijing , the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) is extending the period for the notification of allocation of press accommodation requests and is adjusting the date for payment of the first 50 per cent deposit beyond the previously notified deadline of 1 September 2007. Accommodation allocation notifications are being progressively dispatched.
News organizations receiving their accommodation allocation notification from BOCOG will be asked to return their confirmation immediately.
BOCOG will then fax or mail an official Accommodation Allocation Agreement (AAA) to the press organization for signing. The AAA will stipulate the date by which payment of the first deposit (50 per cent of the total) must be made. The deposit is not required before the AAA is signed by both parties.
The balance must be paid no later than 1 April 2008.
For those news organizations that have already confirmed their accommodation allocation and received an invoice, the deposit payment deadline of 1 September is unchanged.
Reservations received by BOCOG after 1 January 2008 will require payment in full in one installment upon signing the Accommodation Allocation Agreement.
Accredited press organizations that have not yet returned accommodation request forms are advised to do so as soon as possible. For requests received after the deadline (June 15,2007), BOCOG will try to meet requests based on room availability.
