I am not trying to be an ass, but as you watch the pictures, try to play Strauss’ “Blue Danube” in your head, and you will get a sense of what happened at the Ice Dancing Competition earlier today.

Four pairs of medal hopefuls saw their chances at podium finishes dashed when they fell in an event where grace and elegance are expected. Canada’s Dubreuil and Lauzon were the victims of the most horrific fall. In one of their routines, Lauzon had to lift Dubreuil high above his shoulder, but the latter lost her grip and fell hard on her right hip.

Despite having ‘Home-Field Advantage,’ two Italian couples also fell.
The Ice-Dancing Finals is tomorrow (Feb. 20).
