India’s Cricket Board supports Olympic Athletes
The Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] have set aside a fund worth US$1 Million to support and train athletes who can compete in the Olympics.
Cricket is by far the most popular sport in India. BCCI has gained sponsorship and television rights worth US$1 Billion in the last 6 months alone. And since Cricket is not an Olympic sport, they have decided to support the ones that are. These sports have been relying on government and private grants for coaching facilities and international exposures.
This action is commendable since they’re also supporting their country. With the BCCI’s fund, they will be able to produce more opportunities for improvement until these athletes achieve world class standards. India’s chances to win more medals will be higher in the upcoming Summer Games and all future Olympic Games.

What about the possibility of pulling out of Iraq, letting Iran invade and lose resources fighting their own kind,
and then come in and mop up the dregs?
